Light Blue CIJ Ink - Resistant to Sunlight Fading

With CIJ printing, every code or mark must withstand various environmental conditions to ensure readability and reliability. As a leading company in industrial ink manufacture globally, Needham Ink Technologies were approached by a customer looking to replace their current OEM ink as it was fading when exposed to sunlight.
Challenge: Our customer faced a vexing problem: their current OEM printer ink was susceptible to fading when exposed to sunlight. For industries reliant on outdoor storage or operations, such as logistics or manufacturing, this presented a significant challenge. Codes and labels were gradually disappearing, compromising the efficiency of their operations, and potentially causing errors.
Solution: Our team, as specialists in industrial printing solutions, recognised the urgency and importance of this dilemma. Leveraging our expertise, we embarked on a project to develop a customised ink formulation explicitly tailored to withstand the photodegradation that the existing ink was experiencing
Approach: Our journey began with a thorough analysis of the conditions that the products were experiencing and the specific challenges faced by their clientele. While we had existing ink formulations catering to similar applications, we understood the need for precision and customisation. We worked closely with the customer, meticulously tweaking the formulation to meet the conditions presented.
Innovation: The crux of our innovation lay in addressing the issue of sunlight-induced fading. The OEM printer ink was vulnerable to UV radiation, leading to gradual discoloration and loss of readability. To counter this, we pioneered a ground-breaking approach by incorporating blue pigments into the ink formulation. These pigments, unlike conventional dyes, offered unparalleled resistance to sunlight, ensuring longevity and legibility of the printed codes even in outdoor settings.
Outcome: The results were transformative. The ink we supplied not only met but exceeded the customers expectations. Codes and labels printed with our customised ink remained vivid and intact, defying the detrimental effects of sunlight exposure. Our client could now rely on the durability and consistency of their printed materials, bolstering their operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Conclusion: The collaboration between our customer and our team stands as a testament to the power of innovation and partnership in overcoming industry challenges. By customising our ink solution to address a specific pain point, we resolved the issue for the customer.
As pioneers in industrial printing solutions, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of possibility, one customised solution at a time. This has allowed us to offer this light blue CIJ that can withstand harsh environments to our standard product range.
