Understand how photocell trigger modes work on the CM750, when to use each one, and how to avoid double-printing or misaligned codes.
Trigger modes control when the printer prints
Your CIJ printer uses a photocell sensor to detect products as they pass the printhead. But how the printer reacts depends on the trigger mode selected.
Set the wrong one, and you’ll either double-print, miss marks, or waste ink.
Trigger Mode Overview
Mode | Description | When to Use It |
---|---|---|
Trigger | Printer fires once per product detected | Most standard applications |
Gate | Printer fires only while product is in front of sensor | Ideal for variable-length products |
Ignore Triggers | Printer runs continuously without sensor input | Use only for continuous web or testing |

Nothing prints at all? ➤ Check sensor wiring or mode setting
Pro tips
