How to store CIJ ink in high-temperature environments

Operating in hot climates? This guide shows how to protect your CIJ fluid from heat damage and evaporation.

Risks of heat exposure

  • Solvent loss due to evaporation

  • Viscosity increase = nozzle clogging

  • Colour shift or chemical degradation

  • Shortened shelf life (under 6 months in extreme heat)

Best practices for hot regions (e.g. APAC, Gulf)

  • Store ink between 5°C–30°C (ideal: 15°C–25°C)

  • Use climate-controlled cabinets or rooms for bulk storage

  • Keep containers sealed tightly after every use

  • Order smaller batches if long-term storage is a risk

  • Avoid storing ink near heat-generating machines

Warning signs

  • Bottles feel pressurised or smell stronger

  • Ink thickens prematurely

  • Shortened drying time with residue left behind
