What’s the shelf life of Needham CIJ fluids?

This guide explains how long your ink and solvent last in storage, and how to store them properly to maximise shelf life.

Typical shelf life

Fluid Type Shelf Life (Unopened)
MEK-based inks 12 months
Ethanol-based inks 12 months
Acetone-based inks 9–12 months
Solvents / Makeup fluids 18 months
 

How to store CIJ fluids

  • Keep sealed containers in a dry area between 5–30°C

  • Avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat

  • Use FIFO (First In, First Out) for stock rotation

  • Don’t mix fluid from different batches

Expired fluids can cause nozzle clogging, drop instability, and system faults.
